East Midlands Chair Position

The East Midlands association makes up one of nine regions across the country and oversees volleyball within the area. 

The committee is made up of volunteers within the region, meeting approximately four times a year.

A further commitment within the role is to join the eight other Regional Chairs in a National working group.

Typical responsibilities for the role include:

  • Organising an AGM
  • Chairing meetings
  • Planning meetings throughout the year
  • Communicating effectively with the county associations (Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire) and the other committee members

There is a great opportunity for this role holder to shape the direction of the East Midlands region supported by a team of committed volunteer executives.

England Senior Women's Head Coach - Volleyball

Volleyball England is looking for a Senior Women’s Head Coach for Volleyball to join the national coaching team. The successful candidate will join the organisation at a time when new ways of working are being developed and implemented -  they will be a leader and advocate of these.

The Senior Women’s Head Coach will deliver an athlete centred performance development programme with the aim of maximising player development through training and relevant competitions. Senior programmes are delivered via a self-financing model where athletes contribute to the running cost of the squad’s activity, as well as working strategically in partnership with supporters and facilitators. The successful candidate will be mindful of this and will efficiently strive for excellence.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and meticulous with strong communication skills and a proven track record of establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals, clubs, practitioners, HUB staff and other stakeholders. As a leader in our sport, the Senior Women’s Head Coach will play a key role in demonstrating the values of Volleyball England and will embed them into the delivery of the programme.

The role will require evening and weekend working and extensive travel. Reasonable expenses are covered by Volleyball England when carrying out this role.

England Senior Women's Volleyball Head Coach - Application Pack

Head Coach - Team Sunderland

Team Sunderland are a multi sports club run by the University of Sunderland allowing students and local residents to compete at the highest standard in Volleyball, Basketball and Netball.  We are based out of CitySpace on Chester rd in Sunderland. Our female volleyball club has been running since 2012 and competes in the National leagues (W2N) which involves a large amount of traveling for fixtures on weekends (9 away fixtures). 

We are looking for a positive enthusiastic person to take on the lead coaching role vacated by Steven Anderson. The role consists of Thursday evening training and weekend fixtures (majority Saturdays, with some away games on Sundays). 

What we are looking for;
• level 2 coaching qualification in volleyball.

• Availability to coach on a Thursday evening, Saturday home games and travel away with the team.

• Willingness to develop and progress on the coaching pathway.

• Approachable friendly deminar

The role is a paid role and rates will depend on experience/qualifications.

Volleyball Head Coach – Team Derby Men’s Programme

The University of Derby’s performance sport department are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Volleyball coach to support the delivery of University’s rapidly growing performance sport programme.

The role is offered on a self-employed basis, invoiced on a monthly basis. The successful applicant will be expected to operate alongside Team Derby staff and within the Universities code of conduct practices including Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity and Financial Regulations as well as General Data Protection Regulation requirements.

The successful applicant must have three to five years’ experience as a head coach/assistant coach in a higher education / national league environment. They must be an effective team player and enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create a forward focused culture and deliver a high-performance training environment. The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the delivery of the Men’s Volleyball programme that is aligned to our high-performance strategy.

Head Office Work Experience Placement

Volleyball England is seeking to appoint a number of Work Experience Placement Interns to be based at it's Head Office in Loughborough.

It is an ideal opportunity for school leavers, students or those who would like a career change to gain invaluable office skills in the sports sector and join a busy and vibrant team at the Volleyball England Head Office.

The placement role will mainly involve administration support for the Volleyball England Hub team during the busy indoor registration period and the summer event season.

Tasks will include:

• Supporting the Membership renewal process for Volleyball clubs, coaches and referees.
• Assisting in preparations for Volleyball England tournaments and events.
• Supporting the Volleyball England Events team at tournaments where required.
• Data entry.

All work experience placements will receive references if required and the opportunity to volunteer with Volleyball England at future events.
