Scottish Volleyball Association - Regional Development Officer

REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICERS - WEST Full-time 2 year fixed term contract (Salary Range: £24,000 to £28,000)

The Scottish Volleyball Association, in partnership with sportscotland, is seeking to recruit a Volleyball Regional Development Officer to plan, implement and lead the development of volleyball in the West of Scotland by adding value and focus to local and national development initiatives and deliver on our planning objectives. The roles will be based at the designated office in the West as well as the SVA Office in Edinburgh.

Successful candidates will share our passion and vision for the development of volleyball and will be required to demonstrate a proven record of successful working with people, finance, projects, IT and events, together with excellent leadership, planning, delivery and communication skills. Also required is the ability to network successfully within the sport, with all current and potential partners and relevant agencies.

SQUAD are looking for a coach to take on the Men's team, training Wednesdays (8-10pm) at Bacon's College (near Canada Water station). 

The team competes in the London Volleyball Association (LVA) Division 2.

Cambridge Volleyball Club - Coaches and Assistant Coaches

Lead coaches and/or Assistant coaches for NVL Teams at CAMBRIDGE VOLLEYBALL CLUB

For the 2019-20 season, our Men’s first and second teams will compete in the NVL division 1 and division 3 and our Women’s first team will compete in the Super League.

Cambridge Volleyball Club is the largest volleyball club in Cambridge. We aim to offer volleyball for men and women at a wide range of levels.

The Club is run for the benefit of all members, to enable them to learn and play volleyball to the level that their ability and commitment allows. 

Our mission is to inspire participation and to encourage development of volleyball through coaching, games and competitions.

We also have a partnership with Anglia Ruskin University and a number of student athletes participate in NVL team training and matches.

We are currently looking to expand our coaching team and require Lead coaches and / or Assistant coaches for NVL Teams.

·       Ideally, we are looking for driven and committed coaches who can develop and motivate players with a range of volleyball experience and diverse backgrounds. 

·       Lead coaches should be at least Level 2 qualified.

·       Remuneration for training sessions is available for the lead coach.

·       Training is either on Thursday or Tuesday evenings (approx. 2 hours) and match days are either on Saturdays or Sundays, depending on the team.

Aston University Volleyball Coach

Aston University in Birmingham wishes to appoint Volleyball Coach to work with our Men's and Women's Volleyball teams during term time. The successful applicant will deliver training for the 2 squads on Tuesdays 8:30-10:30pm & Thursdays 8-9pm on the Aston University campus.

Applicants must possess a Level Two Volleyball Coaching qualification as a minimum and must be available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Start date: 24th September

City of London University Coach

The City of London University is looking for a Coach for its Men's Team. 

The team compete in BUCS South Eastern Division 1 and the BUCS Trophy Cup, playing their games Wednesday afternoon, as well as the Volleyball England Student Cup. The team trains Monday evenings 8.30pm-10pm. The team will also book courts on other days of the week for extra training. 

Salary: £25-35 per hour, dependent on experience. 

Travel is provided to away matches. Home matches are played in Central London (EC1V 7DP)

Winchester Royals Volleyball Club Coach

Role: Winchester Royals Volleyball Club Coach

The Winchester Royals Volleyball Club are in need of a coach who can work with both the men and women’s team, aiding their development and starting them on the right track to success in the BUCS league.

The primary role will be to run training sessions for both teams and to also develop the team in terms of personal performance and teamwork. We have only been competitive teams for the past two years and are entering our third year in the BUCS league. The women’s team managed to get to the semi-final of their cup last year and are looking forward to taking on that task again with a strong team.

The men’s team have developed incredibly and had their first win of the season last year, gaining some valuable players and knowledge of the game.
We need a coach who is willing to take on both teams; who have a good, but somewhat basic knowledge of the sport. We need to work on our techniques and improve on our knowledge of the game that will in turn help us learn important rotations. We look forward to hearing from you and we are very excited for the year ahead.

Pay per hour: We are open and willing to have a discussion with any coach and how much they feel they need or want to be paid. Maximum £20 p/h.

Start date: 28th September 2019.

Training times: Saturdays (Women’s) and Sundays (Men’s) 8pm till 11pm (could change)

Match days: Every Wednesday in accordance with the BUCS league (can be home or away for either team).

Head Office Work Experience Placement

Volleyball England is seeking to appoint a number of Work Experience Placement Interns to be based at it's Head Office in Loughborough.

It is an ideal opportunity for school leavers, students or those who would like a career change to gain invaluable office skills in the sports sector and join a busy and vibrant team at the Volleyball England Head Office.

The placement role will mainly involve administration support for the Volleyball England Hub team during the busy indoor registration period and the summer event season.

Tasks will include:

• Supporting the Membership renewal process for Volleyball clubs, coaches and referees.
• Assisting in preparations for Volleyball England tournaments and events.
• Supporting the Volleyball England Events team at tournaments where required.
• Data entry.

All work experience placements will receive references if required and the opportunity to volunteer with Volleyball England at future events.
